The Tyler Group LLC was established in June 2014 to provide consulting services to the Architect, Engineering & Construction (AEC) and Environmental Services industries. The company’s expertise is embedded in the experience and knowledge of its owner, President and CEO, J. Joseph Tyler. The company is fully insured.
From March 2010 thru June 2014, prior to establishing The Tyler Group, Joe was Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Integration and Initiatives and, later, Director Strategic Initiatives with Versar, Inc. His duties included oversight of Contracting and Business Development as well as leadership of strategic initiatives; evaluation and due diligence of potential corporate acquisitions; and corporate integration of new acquisitions. He led the successful corporate integration for two acquisitions each valued over $20M in the last year of his Versar employment. In addition, he assisted the CEO in Enterprise Risk Management for the company.
Joe entered private industry after retirement from the federal government in January 2010 as a member of the Senior Executive Service and Director of Military Programs at Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This ended 40 years of service to the nation, US Army and USACE. He served in overseas assignments in Europe and Japan and traveled throughout Southwest Asia in management of USACE programs. His AEC and Environmental program/project management and leadership experience covered USACE military, civil works and foreign military sales programs at the District, Division and Headquarters levels. He maintained a TS/SCI clearance.
Joe has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla and a MA degree in Public Administration from the University of Virginia. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia.
